Poppy Field ((tegakiE))

Welp, I finally gave up on tegaki being able to save and ended up having to take a screenshot of this painting instead of really finishing it I haven't touched tegaki in a few years and sporadically had the urge to mess around in it again one day, deciding to draw Matthew since I had never actually drawn him in this program before ;;>.> I was enjoying revisiting tegaki until... for some reason the save button stopped working ._.; and I literally left my browser open for the last 4 days in hope that whatever bug had caused this would be relieved. Unfortunately, it never got fixed and my browser is getting a bit laggy from being open too long .-. so I gave up, took a screenshot and here you are. It's mostly finished... just a few places I wanted to touch up on but decided to not spend much time on because it wouldn't save anyway hahaha...

I wonder if tegaki isn't all that popular anymore so the site is in a state of disrepair or something?? IDK. While working on this painting, I was getting excited about using tegaki again and had all these plans to draw all of Matty's friends in WT with their own tegaki pic xD but haha no save--- that is really crushing omg. I hope it gets fixed soon.

There isn't much to say about this painting, really... just WT!Matthew in a poppy field somewhere--- Poppies were his original's favorite flower and they had a deep meaning to him, too. Matthew feels an affinity for the flower, but he doesn't know why he has a preference for this flower as the memory from his original regarding the poppies is a fragmented one. Either Matthew will figure out his original's meaning to the poppy flower or Matthew will develop his own meaning to it and personalize it to himself.

Anywaaaaaay, sorry for a lack of art lately xD I've been drawing, I swear! I mainly just haven't been finishing much //laugh// A LOT OF PARTIALLY-FINISHED THINGS, THOUGH! Hopefully will finish these other things soon hehe. In the meantime, I'll just give you this tegaki pic because I feel so done on tegaki right now xD It's a shame, but what can you do...

Several years ago when I used tegaki regularly was actually how I learned a lot about color theory and how to use bright, vivid colors. Before I used tegaki, my art was really washed out in terms of color... but after I used tegaki, I was suddenly able to do much more brightly colored artworks, even long after I stopped using tegaki. Some people have asked me how I learned to use color and it was basically because of tegaki haha. It has limited colors but they're very bright and makes it easy to produce colorful artworks like the one I'm posting now. It taught me a lot and it's a lot of fun, too, albeit in a challenging sort of way. I think the main reason I stopped using tegaki was because I got a new, larger computer monitor around that time and suddenly tegaki canvas seemed so TINY xD

I hope you guys like this painting, even though it's kind of a disappointment with how things had to end for it //laugh
