Tombstones of the Gods

Sorry for lack of art lately x.x Relatives were visiting but now they are gone... so time to get back to art!

This is another landscape from , the Tombstones of the Gods in the country of Gangnyeok. It's located in the north-central part of the continent where the elevation gets to be some of the highest in the country. Few species of trees grow and much of it is high grassland that floods during spring and is covered by snow in winter, but the most interesting features are the strange, vertical peaks that rise up from the flat, high-elevation expanse. These heavily eroded, steep, rocky formations are known as the Tombstones of the Gods. In Gangnyeok state religion, this is the place where all the ancient gods of the world perished and were buried after being defeated by the great Miyak Lu, the first God Leader of Gangnyeok, before the conclusion of the Unity Wars. It is said that the more primitive peoples of the world who believed in gods were forced to bow down before Miyak as a result because they were unable to draw any further power from their gods in order to resist conquest. By defeating these ancient gods, there was nothing to stand in Miyak's way to becoming a god himself. These rocks were said to have been placed there by Miyak himself as a monument to his own power and dominance, and less so about remembrance of the old gods. The graves are each unmarked... as no memory of these gods is allowed. Many centuries afterward, no one remembers the great gods of the land of old.

Today, the land is a sacred site where the most privileged citizens are allowed to visit and pay homage to Miyak Lu.
