meandering river

a speedpaint of one of the meandering rivers for the #Tales-of-Nexus world. this is one of many rivers of Mullymul Jyn'zjyn as it weaves its way through an old volcanic landscape. the region has gone into volcanic inactivity several million years ago so most of the once-grand volcanic features have been eroded away by the rather wet climate of the region. more rivers flow through the Mullymul continent than any other and up on the plateau, these rivers are often meandering, meaning they can jump their banks and change location often as well as creating oxbow lakes where the water no longer flows. these rivers tend to be unpredictable and even well-traveled individuals of the region will often find surprises along these river systems. because of the sparse population of Mullymul, the rivers are often used for transportation as there are no major roads through the region. the Tenkergarr River is the major trade route for the capitol city of Anadyr as well as the largest river in the region. a majority of the plateau's rivers eventually empty into the Tenkergarr as part of one very large watershed. many eco-tourism Guilds in Neshkam criticize the pollution Anadyr creates for this reason as Anadyr is highly industrialized and has no concern over what they dump into the rivers or how it may affect the environment ((and people)) who live downstream. Neshkam isnt far from the mouth of the Tenkergarr River and being a city of fishermen and tourism, pollution is an issue of great concern for them.

this is part of my Mullymul Jyn'zjyn map project 8V ill be doing it for each of the Nexus countries where ill have a sort of "information pamphlet" type thing to give an overview of everything. i just need to do more "photos" ((these paintings of locations)) to include in it along with the finalized maps xD i guess im starting with Mullymul since it has a pretty straightforward geology and its rather old stuff, making the landscape relatively simple ((in appearance, anyway)). Estonta and Gangnyeok have the way more interesting geologic locations as the geology in those two countries are a lot more recent xD Gangnyeok, for example, has the tallest mountain range and the biggest deserts in the Nexus world and Estonta has the most active volcanism and dramatic weather systems. Nove Mesto doesnt have much interesting geology ((to a typical person)) as it has some of the oldest stuff in the world xD then Mullymul is an ancient basalt province with a shitload of rivers, marsh and forest.
